Ben Bauman President & CEO of Bolt Express grew up in Toledo, Ohio as one of nine children. He attended Davis Business College in Toledo and after graduating in 1982 he moved to Akron to continue his education at the University of Akron in their Transportation Program. While attending the University he was hired by Roberts Express (aka FedEx Custom Critical). During his years with Roberts, he moved from a customer service agent to eventually becoming a field sales rep in the Detroit, Michigan territory selling to the automotive market.

In 1992 Ben become the President of World Logistics Group, a holding company that owned and managed Pronto Emergency Freight, Roco Courier and Delivery Service and two Airborne station contracts in Toledo, Ohio and Denver, Colorado.

In 2001, Ben decided to start Bolt Express, recruiting a team of professionals with experience in the expedite market. The goal of the team was to build a company based on providing legendary customer service, developing strong partnerships with their Owner-Operators and an aggressive growth strategy. Together they developed a business plan, which has stayed the foundation of the company to this day. Since 2006, Bolt Express has experience significant growth and just recently completed a 12,000 square foot addition to their state-of-the-art Operations Center located in Toledo, Ohio.

Not only has Ben had a successful business career, but he has also been blessed to have a wonderful family. Ben has been married to his wife Libby for 28 years. They have three children, Josie, Austin and Zane and two wonderful grandchildren. Besides spending time with his family he enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson and traveling, that is when he has time!
